This guide explains how to upgrade your FRAMEN player to the latest Photo app version.

🎯 Helping tips
- You will need a USB stick to proceed with the update.
- We recommend that you connect a mouse via the USB port to make the process easier
- The smartphone apps are not supported anymore and can't be found in the app stores (iOS or Android), you will have to sign-up on our web dashboard
Please note that this should work for the majority of the FRAMEN player versions.
If it doesn't, we are also suggesting a way to use it without any FRAMEN software, however, these steps may vary depending on the android version on your player.
🎯 Updating with the FRAMEN Photo App
We developed a last version for the player that can be supported by Android with an estimation of ca. 1 year in order for you to further enjoy your memories.
- Click on the link below and download the FRAMEN app (.apk file).
- Transfer the file to your USB stick.

- Click the gear
on your remote control to enter the settings of the device.
Click on "Home Apps" and select the Android launcher as your home screen.
- Go back to the settings in your FRAMEN Player, click on "Apps" and uninstall "Framen Play".
- Connect your USB stick to one of the ports on the back of the device.
- Open the USB stick on your FRAMEN player and click on the app you transferred to install it.
- After you have installed the new Photo app version, go back to “Home Apps” in the settings and select the Framen launcher, the newly installed app will open by itself when you restart.
An 8-digit code will appear to connect your player to your dashboard. Since the smartphone app is no longer supported, please go to dashboard.framen.io and log in there to register your player.

🎯 Using your own USB for the update
Please note that this means you will use the player as a standalone digital photo frame without any connection to FRAMEN's software. We won't be able to support if you encounter issues with this option.
- Click the gear on your remote control to enter the settings of the device.
- Click on "Home Apps" and select the Android launcher as your home screen.
- Go back to the settings in your FRAMEN Player, click on "Apps" and uninstall "Framen Play".

- Transfer the file to your USB stick.
- Connect your USB stick to one of the ports on the back of the device.
- Open the USB stick on your FRAMEN player and click on the app you transferred to install it.
