Reset screen rotation

Portrait when it should be landscape (or vice versa)? Fix rotation in the FRAMEN app or the TV Box OS.

Use-case

Your screen is mounted portrait but content plays landscape (or vice versa). This article covers FRAMEN app rotation and device OS rotation.


Steps


In the FRAMEN app

  1. Open the FRAMEN app on the screen.

  2. Open the menu.

  3. Select Rotate.

  4. Choose the correct orientation (portrait or landscape).

  5. Save.

This tells FRAMEN what orientation your screen is physically mounted in, so we only serve correctly-oriented ads.


In the TV Box OS (FRAMEN TV Box)

Some TV Box models have a separate OS-level rotation.

  1. Open Settings on the TV Box.

  2. Go to Display or Rotation.

  3. Set the rotation to match your physical setup.

  4. Save and restart the device if prompted.


On a Fire TV or Android TV

Rotation is controlled entirely by the FRAMEN app on these devices. Set it in the app menu (above). The OS typically runs landscape only.


Wrong-rotation ads

If your screen is set correctly but an ad plays in the wrong orientation, the advertiser uploaded a creative in the wrong format.

Contact FRAMEN support with:

  • Location title

  • Player / Screen IDs (see Find your Screen ID)

  • Your screen's orientation

  • Approximate time the wrong-rotation ad played, if known

We'll trace the creative and fix the targeting.


Good to know

  • After changing rotation, watch a full loop on the screen to confirm both FRAMEN content and ads display correctly.

  • If you only have portrait screens, set every screen in that location to portrait. Mixed orientations in one location cause problems.
