Manage screen settings

Once a screen is connected, you can control its orientation, cover mode, firmware, ad toggle, news categories and ad frequency.

Use-case

Screen settings determine what's technically possible (orientation, fit) and what's commercially allowed (ads on/off, news categories). Get them right before your first ads book.

The Screens section

Open Screens from the Screen Manager sidebar. For each screen in the Inventory list, you see:

  • Status — online (reachable by FRAMEN) or offline.

  • Items — how many pieces of content are assigned.

  • Ads count — how many ads are currently running.

  • Lite URL — click to copy; open in a browser to preview what's playing.

Settings per screen

  • Cover mode — scales content to fit when orientation or aspect ratio doesn't match the screen. Useful for mixed-orientation content.

  • Landscape / Portrait — set the screen's orientation so assets display correctly.

  • Update firmware — update the FRAMEN TV Box app. Soon available for Smart TVs and streaming devices.

The Ads section

Ads settings directly affect your earnings.

  • Ads Provider toggle — on = screen receives ads and earns. Off = no ads, no earnings. Keep this on unless you have a reason to pause.

  • News categories — pick which topics (business, sports, lifestyle, etc.) play on your screen. Choose what fits your audience.

  • Ads frequency — set how often ads play, from every 10 seconds to every 10 minutes. Higher frequency = more potential earnings.

Viewing and managing all screens

From Screens in the sidebar, you can see every screen in one list, grouped by Location. A Status pill like 1/193 Online at the top shows how many screens across the workspace are currently online.

Per screen you can see:

  • Online/offline status.

  • Created date and last online time.

  • Item count, orientation, Location, and email-notification status.

Good to know

  • Maximise earnings: Turn the Ads toggle on, keep ad frequency high, and make sure the location is approved. See How you earn revenue.

  • When to lower frequency: Lower ad frequency only if your own content or Channel content should dominate (e.g. a menu board where ads should be occasional).

  • Screens vs Players: "Players" was the old term. They refer to the same thing.
