Keep your screen awake and online

Offline screens can't serve ads and can't earn. This article covers common causes and fixes.

Use-case

Screens that sleep, disconnect from Wi-Fi, or get kicked off captive portals stop earning immediately. Learn how to prevent sleep mode and fix connection drops.

Prevent sleep mode

General (most screens) - Disable Power Management or Sleep Mode options in the screen's settings menu, or set them to the longest possible duration. - Some screens have a Keep Alive or Prevent Screen Saver option — enable it.

FRAMEN app / Android TV / Fire TV 1. Go to Settings → Sound & Display → Screen Saver → Start Time. 2. Set it to Never. 3. In the FRAMEN app menu, enable Automatic Relauncher and Launch on Boot.

FRAMEN TV Box updates 1. Press the menu (hamburger) button on the remote. 2. Select Check for Updates. Click it a few times. 3. Wait a few seconds — updates may take a moment to appear.

Amazon Fire TV 1. Go to Display and Sounds → Screen Saver → Start Time. 2. Set it to Never. 3. In the FRAMEN app menu, enable Launch on Boot and Auto Update.

Amazon Fire Stick - Same as Fire TV, plus: connect to a wall power socket, not the TV's USB port. TV USB often doesn't deliver enough power for sustained uptime.

Fix connection drops

Check the connection

In the device's FRAMEN app, three indicators should all be green:

  • Wi-Fi — connected

  • Internet — online

  • Server — reachable

Wi-Fi not connected - Check the router — is the problem this device only or the whole network? - Weak signal (less than 5/10 bars) causes drops. Install a Wi-Fi repeater closer to the screen. - Avoid public or guest Wi-Fi with captive portals (login pop-ups). They time out and disconnect devices.

Wi-Fi connected but no internet - Behind a firewall? Whitelist the FRAMEN device's MAC address (on the bottom of the TV Box). - Check all settings, then restart the device. - If it persists, use Forget the Network in device settings, then reconnect.

Good to know

  • Set up alerts — get email notifications when a screen goes offline so you can fix it fast; see Get email alerts for screen issues.

  • Why uptime matters — offline screens disappear from the advertiser marketplace. Frequent drops hurt bookings and visibility.
