Use-case
Amazon Fire devices are a cheap, flexible way to connect any HDMI screen to FRAMEN. This article covers Fire Stick setup and critical FRAMEN-specific settings.
What's in the box (Fire TV Stick)
Fire Stick
Power adapter
Micro USB cable
Two AAA batteries (for the remote)
HDMI extension
System requirements
A TV with an HDMI port
An internet connection
Set up the Fire Stick
Insert the Fire Stick into the TV's HDMI port.
Plug in power using a wall outlet, not a TV USB port. TV USB ports don't deliver enough power for reliable 24/7 operation.
Install the batteries in the remote.
Turn on the TV and switch to the correct HDMI input.
Pair the remote — if it doesn't pair automatically, hold Home until "Press to start" appears (about 10 seconds).
Connect to Wi-Fi and download the latest software update.
Sign in to your Amazon account — visit the on-screen URL (amazon.com/code) on another device and enter the code.
Answer the setup questions (equipment control, sound bar, etc.).
Install the FRAMEN app
Open the Amazon App Store on the Fire TV.
Search for FRAMEN.
Install the app.
Launch it and sign in.
Configure for signage use (critical)
These settings prevent common downtime issues.
In the FRAMEN app
Turn on Launch on Boot — the app restarts automatically after power cycles.
Turn on Auto Update — keeps the app current.
Turn on Automatic Relauncher — the app relaunches if it crashes.
In Fire TV settings
Go to Settings > Display and Sounds > Screen Saver > Start Time.
Set to Never.
Pairing troubleshooting
If the remote won't pair:
Move it within 10 ft / 3 m of the device.
Remove batteries, wait 30 seconds, reinsert, and hold Home for 10 seconds.
Reset the remote if you have a compatible model.
For Echo Show 15, follow Amazon's specific pairing flow.
Good to know
Fire Stick on TV USB power loses connection when the TV enters low-power states. Always use a wall outlet.
FRAMEN supports Fire OS 7 (Android 9) and Fire OS 8 (Android 11). See Recommended Amazon Fire devices for compatible models.
FRAMEN is available in all of Europe (except the Russian Federation) and the UAE.
