Target by venue type

Show your ads only in the kinds of places where your audience is — hotels, gyms, gas stations, coworking spaces, and more.

Written by Support Team

Use-case

Venue type targeting narrows your campaign to places that match an audience mindset. Someone in a hotel lobby is in a different moment than someone at a gas station or a gym. Pick the venue types that fit your message, and your budget goes to the right moments instead of spreading thin across the whole network. If you skip this step, your campaign runs across all venue types by default.

Steps

  1. Open your campaign in the Ads Manager and go to Targeting.

  2. In the Venue types section, click Select.

  3. Search for the venue types you want, or browse the list.

  4. Click Save.

Venue audience profiles

The venue picker shows the number of locations and screens, approximate impressions and spots, example venue photos, and a live preview of your creative on a real screen. Those numbers are potential reach; actual delivery depends on your budget, flight dates and other targeting. See Forecast your campaign reach for a firmer estimate.

Hotels

Reach travellers — business and leisure, local and international, budget and luxury. 41% of travellers book for business trips; 60% of families stay on holiday. Peak hours: 11:00–17:00 (check-in, check-out, lobby dwell). Good fit for travel services, local attractions, mobility and premium consumer brands.

Gyms

Reach casual gym-goers, weightlifters, class regulars and personal-training clients. Premium gyms lean higher-income; low-cost chains are broader. Peak hours: early morning and late afternoon/evening, plus weekends. Good fit for health, nutrition, apparel, wellness apps and recovery products.

Gas stations

Reach drivers refuelling, convenience-store shoppers and travellers on long routes. Peak hours: morning and evening rush hour, plus weekends, holidays and summer months near tourist routes. Good fit for mobility, QSR, snacks and drinks, insurance and travel.

Coworking spaces

Reach freelancers, founders, remote workers from SMEs and early-adopter employees from larger companies. Peak hours: traditional business hours (09:00–17:00), with extra attention at start of day and lunchtime. Good fit for B2B SaaS, fintech, HR tech, food delivery and education.

Good to know

  • Venue type stacks with Target by location and other audience filters. Use them together for tighter reach — for example gyms + Berlin + weekend-only budget.

  • Narrowing venue types will reduce your forecast. That's expected. Loosen the selection or raise the budget. If a venue type you want has no live inventory, tell your account manager or widen to an adjacent type.
