Sound on your screens

FRAMEN screens play muted by default. If you want in-venue music, use a separate audio system.

Use-case

Screens play muted — semi-public venues rarely need audio, and mixing screen audio with ambient music creates conflict. This article covers your options for music and how to design content that works silent.

Music in your venue

If you want to play music, run it through a separate audio system — not the same speakers as your FRAMEN screens.

Why separate systems:

  1. Interference — simultaneous audio from the screen and an external source conflict and degrade both.

  2. Control — you can change music volume, tracks, or mood without touching screen content.

Good to know

  • Design content muted — any content you upload should work fully muted. Rely on strong visuals, captions, and on-screen text instead of voiceover.

  • Need audio for your venue? — for locations where silent playback genuinely reduces impact (e.g. loud public spaces), contact our team to assess options.
