Photograph your screens

Good photos in your location gallery help advertisers visualize their ad in context — and boost your screens' bookings.

Use-case

Advertisers browse the Ads Manager and compare venues visually. A clean, well-framed photo of your screen in place is often the deciding factor.

The four rules

1. Angle Shoot as frontal to the screen as possible. The more angle, the harder to read. Slight side-angles are fine — just minimize them.

2. Clean shot Nothing should obstruct the screen. No people in front, no furniture blocking the view. Wait for the path to clear before shooting.

3. Distance Balance close and far. Show the screen clearly and some surrounding environment. Venue context is part of why advertisers pick you.

4. People Include people when possible. They give scale, audience sense, and atmosphere. Colleagues or coworkers walking past work fine.

Good to know

  • Photo placement — upload photos to the Gallery field when creating or editing a location; see Create and approve a location.

  • Multiple photos help — a wide venue shot, a close-up of the screen, and a shot with people serve different needs. Variety helps.

  • Lighting — natural daylight usually looks best. Avoid harsh back-lighting that washes out the screen. If glare is an issue, shoot early morning or after sunset with ambient room lighting.
